No 53 - MQUAN
Michele Quan of MQuan Studios designed this porcelain birdhouse with its future inhabitants in mind. Inspired by a Japanese lantern, each piece is hand thrown and meticulously painted with a chrysanthemum flower design that unfolds outward from the opening, and continues to wrap around the structure giving it a blossoming effect. It’s highly functional with ventilation holes located near the top, drainage holes on the bottom and the perfect sized entrance to welcome a variety of birds. Each piece is fired in reduction, which blocks oxygen, enriching the tone of the glaze. Intended for outdoor use, and made to withstand the elements, this birdhouse can also be displayed indoors as a unique decorative object. Measuring approximately 9" x 6", it comes signed and numbered by the artist, and ships immediately depending on availability. Read more about Quan on The Hourglass.
